Currently we are working in the European consortium on the LEAN Marketing training. Together with partners from Denmark, Germany, Spain, Greece and the Netherlands existing generic knowledge will be "translated" to the graphicmedia industry to help entrepreneurs and employees in their companies with LEAN knowledge. LEAN is the ability to "achieve more with less'. The LEAN philosophy focuses on increasing customer value, with less effort, fewer errors, less material, smaller inventories, less energy, and less time and space. Lean manufacturing is a management philosophy that aims to eliminate wastage (= things that do not add value), as far as possible . When within the organization people work more efficient, the better capacity is utilized, wastage is be avoided. New capacity gets free and can be used in the company.Therefore we have added LEAN Marketing to the LEAN project. Everyone is familiar with marketing, but not everyone is active and structurally working with it. In the Leonardo project we will develop a LEAN Marketing training. We recognize the importance of the (strategic) marketing process, but also we want to improve the sales activities within the organization. Not sell directly to to fill presses, but an efficient coordination between customer needs, sales process, order preparation and actual production. Because the printing industry from a position of luxury never paid much attention to marketing, LEAN Marketing has to be approached on a practical way . No endless theories thick marketing plans, but practical and recognizable theory useable in the daily practice of a company. Using marketing in a practical way, a company can make great efficiency improvement. The assignments will be based on existing LEAN tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Analysis and A3.The planning is that the LEAN Marketing training will consist of four sessions.
